Jubilee Home is first and foremost a home. A peaceful place where young men can live in community and acquire the skills everyone needs to live on their own.
Jubilee Home’s model is based on best practices and includes curriculums for decision making (CBI) and life skills. JH is structured to house up to six young men between the ages of 17-21, plus two live-in caretakers. Each young man’s stay at Jubilee Home will be marked by the fulfillment of a care plan individually crafted for them in coordination with the Jubilee Home daytime staff, and outside stakeholders. Along with his plan, each resident will participate in community life (meals, chores, events, etc.), and either pursue continuing education or employment opportunities. In these ways Jubilee Home bridges the considerable gap between life in incarceration and life in the ‘real world.’
Jubilee Home is primarily intended for those young men coming out of the care of the North Carolina Department of Public Safety. However, Jubilee Home is not limited to this population. Other individuals who might benefit from this program can be referred from the community or various service providers. Please send any initial inquiries to jubileehomenc@gmail.com.
