I am from Redondo Beach, California, where George Freeth conducted the daily surf demonstrations that established California beach culture. I moved to Durham in 2014 for both my sister and a career in healthcare and have been biking to work at the hospital ever since. I live with my husband Josh, our two sons David and Jonah, and our diva of a dog Magnolia. You can find us running around the Museum of Life and Science or at the Durham Farmer’s Market.
One random fact that you should know about me is that ten years ago, I won a set of base layers simply by scrolling to the bottom of a hiking newsletter email, and I now faithfully scroll to the bottom of every newsletter they send (often without reading it). When I’m not at Oak Church’s potluck, I love to find new uses for sourdough discard and spend time outside, preferably in contact with a body of water (especially watering holes, lap pools, the ocean, or a cold plunge tub). If you’d like to walk and talk about navigating health and faith, grief, or the role of faith practices such as communion and baptism, then I’m your person.
