Psalm 122
Christian DaPonte
Christian DaPonte is Oak Church’s Pastoral Intern for the 2019-20 academic year from Duke Divinity School. He was born in the USA’s northern neighbor in the great city of Vancouver, BC, his family moved across the continent to metro Atlanta where he was raised and calls his hometown. He went to Samford University in Birmingham, AL, and majored in Music and minored in Religion. After graduating in 2018, he came to Durham to continue his studies and pursue a Masters of Divinity at Duke Divinity School.
Christian enjoys watching my favorite hockey team, the Vancouver Canucks, hiking, playing/writing music on the Oak Church music team, and watching indie movies. He’s worked as a tutor in Durham Schools, as a library assistant at the Duke Divinity library, and as an intern at Church World Service Refugee Resettlement in Durham. He’s passionate about the intersection between theology and the arts, philosophy of education, and the role of the local church in building community. In the future he hopes to build his own bass guitar, own a cat, work as a teacher, and serve in the local church.
